Virat Kohli’s imperious batting performance is drawing appreciation from all corners and the latest to laud the Indian skipper is Shoaib Akhtar. The former Pakistan pacer has admitted that the Indian skipper is the modern-day’s Sir Don Bradman.

Akhtar agrees when asked whether Kohli is equal to Bradman

In a recent program, former Indian cricketer Sunil Gavaskar claimed that Kohli will break most of the ODI and Test batting records if he continues to play for the next decade.

An Indian journalist tweeted Gavaskar’s statement on Twitter to which Akhtar replied by saying that, ‘No doubt about that if virat stays fit for this long then he break all the records ..’

The journalist further asked the right-arm pacer whether the Indian skipper is equal to the legendary batsman Sir Donald Bradman and without hesitation, Akhtar replied by saying that, ‘Of course he is no question about it..’

Kohli’s sensational batting form

The Indian skipper is in tremendous batting form since 2015. Kohli’s numbers have been beyond staggering and in 2018 he has been simply marvelous.

In 2018, Kohli amassed 1202 runs in ODIs that too in just 14 innings. He scored six hundreds and three fifties in those 14 innings and maintained a whopping average of 133.55. And he scored these runs at an astonishing strike-rate of 102.55.

The right-hand batsman has done equally well in Tests as well and averages 59.05 after 18 Test innings in 2018. He scored 1063 runs in Tests and has slammed four hundreds as well.

This stunning batting performance has made the cricket fraternity shower praise on the Indian captain. Recently, former South Africa skipper Graeme Smith called him the ‘Superstar’ of international cricket and claimed that Kohli’s performances will keep Test cricket relevant.
