Why is MS Dhoni so special? The cricket fraternity once again got an answer to this question and unfortunately for Delhi Capitals, they were at the receiving end. Dhoni hammered 44 runs off just 22 balls providing a blockbuster finish to CSK’s innings and then made two stumpings which were so quick that no other wicket-keeper in the world can replicate them. In the end Delhi was defeated by 80 runs and lost their top spot to CSK.
Batting first Chennai had a poor start as Shane Watson was out for a nine ball duck against Jagdish Suchith. Faf du Plessis too found it difficult to get going as Chennai managed just 26 runs in their Powerplays.
du Plessis then tried to break the shackles by cantering Rutherford for a six in the 13th over and in the next over slammed Axar Patel for another six. But Axar removed him on the next ball to push Chennai to two down for 87.

Raina meanwhile looked in good touch and scored a fine half-century scoring 59 off 37 balls. But the boost for CSK came from Jadeja and Dhoni. The duo scored 43 runs off 22 balls as Jadeja made a quick-fire 25 off 10 balls.
Dhoni unleashed furry in the death overs and was severe against Trent Boult. The cantered Boult for a four a six in the 18th over and then slammed him two more sixes and a four in the last over to take CSK to 179.

Delhi was never in the chase as they lost wickets in quick succession. Chahar removed Prithvi Shaw in the first over and then Harbhajan Singh sent back dangerous looking Shikhar Dhawan in the 6th over.
The spin duo of Tahir and Jadeja ran through Delhi’s middle-order as Delhi was all-out for just 99 runs. Tahir picked four wickets while Jadeja grabbed three. The highlight though was Dhoni’s twin stumping brilliance on Jadeja’s bowling in the 12th over.
He removed Morris with his back-foot just a little above the ground and one ball later did the same with Shreyas Iyer too.
