Ashwin shines in India’s incredible comeback on Day 1

ENG-IND TEST SERIES STARTED YESTERDAY
The England-India five match test series started on a high note with the first Test at Edgbaston, Birmingham.The recent T20I series was won by India and the ODI series was won by England.
However,this test series is a big challenge for both the squad.

ASHWIN PLAYED,KL RAHUL PLAYED,PUJARA DROPPED
Unfortunately,the pitch looked a bit like having moisture ,but it’s possible that it would improve by DAY 4 in favour of India spinners.The English team won the ton and decided to bat first .Indian captain Virat Kohli revealed that he has decided just to play just one spinner,R Ashwin. Moreover,Cheteshwar Pujara was dropped in favour of KL Rahul.

The Indian fast pacer Umesh Yadav started his delivery on a sad note and found it tough to get his line and length correct and gave runs.On the other hand,Ishant Sharma,troubled both left-handed openers in Jennings and Cook.

ASHWIN TAKES 4 WICKETS
However, R Ashwin emerged victorious for team India by taking the wicket of Alastair Cook,who was bowled after scoring 13 runs.Jennings scored 42 runs ,with a partnership of 86 runs with Joe Root for the second wicket.Anyway,he got out after striking 43 runs by the bowling of Mohammad Shami.

Shami also dismissed Dawid Malan sfter he mafde onluy 8 runs .Malan also had reviewed his LBW but remained unsuccessful.Root and Bairstow added 104 runs for the 4th wicket before Virat Kohli ran Root out for 80.

Soon,the Indian bowlers also took quick wickets of Bairstow (70), bowled by Umesh Yadav and Jos Buttler, LBW to R Ashwin for a two-ball duck.

INDIAN BOWLERS MAKE A GREAT COMEBACK
With England struck at 224 runs at the loss of 6 wickets,Indian bowlers made a great comeback when Ashwin removed Broad and Ishant removed Rashid. The Indian squad had the full opportunity to bowl England out in the last over of the day by Dinesh Karthik missed one catch and as a result, England will come back tomorrow to continue their innings.
