The England team management has announced their 12-man team for the third Test against Windies. After getting thrashed in the first two Tests, the visitors have recalled Keaton Jennings and Mark Wood in the team while Ben Foakes has been dropped. There is also a doubt on Ben Stokes’ availability due to fitness concerns.
Ben Foakes made solid start to his Test career by scoring a hundred against Sri Lanka. But he has failed to make any impact in this ongoing series against Windies so far. In two Tests he has scored only 55 runs and hence the team management has decided to drop him.
In the absence of Foakes Jonny Bairstow will most probably keep the wickets. Bairstow will also bat in the lower middle order which opens up a slot at the top of the batting order and to fill it up, England have recalled Keaton Jennings in the team.
Jennings was dropped for the second Test due to his string of below par performances but he has now one more chance to prove his abilities.
The England all-rounder has injured his heel and there is no confirmation on the severity of his injury. The team management has included him in the team but if he isn’t available then Sam Curran may get another chance to feature in England’s Test team.
England have already lost this three match Test series. The hosts were completely outplayed England in the first two Tests and visitors will be looking to atleast prevent a white wash.
