ENG vs SL 3rd ODI: Possible Playing 11 of Sri Lanka

SL Playing 11: It’s the last match of Sri Lanka’s tour of England and the tourists are still winless on tour. They lost the T20I series 3-0 and are now on the verge of losing the ODI series by the same margin. With inexperience in the side, these conditions have proved to be tough to deal for SL. Losing players due to disciplinary issues hasn’t helped their cause either. England leads Sri Lanka 38-36 in the overall head-to-head record. The Lankans will be disappointed with their performance and will be looking to end the tour on a high.

Team News
SL have an inexperienced squad to pick players from. Oshada Fernando’s availability remains a doubt due to his illness. If he is fit, he will replace Charith Asalanka.

SL Playing 11 (likely)

Pathum Nissanka
Kusal Perera (C) (wk)
Avishka Fernando
Dhananjaya de Silva
Charith Asalanka/ Oshada Fernando
Dasun Shanaka
Wanindu Hasaranga
Chamika Karunaratne
Binura Fernando
Dushmantha Chameera
Asitha Fernando

Sri Lanka desperately needs their captain to fire at the top to give them a good start that they are clearly lacking. Dhananjaya de Silva’s run-a-ball 91 was a big positive from the last match and he will look to continue his form. The lower order also showed a fight towards the end to drag the score to 241. Bowlers have bowled well in patches but their inconsistency hasn’t helped their cause against a world-class English batting line-up.
