ENG vs SL: Watch England Cricketers celebrate win against Germany in Euro 2020


The UEFA Euro 2020 is being watched all across the globe, and the level of anticipation and excitement is at the pinnacle with every passing game. Last evening was the perfect example for it, as England cricketers after securing a five-wickets win over Sri Lanka, sat back and enjoyed their football team beat Germany 2-0 to advance into the Quarter Finals.

This was the first time that England beat Germany in the knockout stage after more than five decades. Raheem Sterling carried on his good form to score the third goal of the tournament, while, Harry Kane sealed the deal at the 82nd minute to push his country through.

In  a recently posted video by England Cricket on Twitter, the players such as Jonny Bairstow, Sam Curran, Sam Billings and the rest went berserk in the dressing room after the Three Lions bagged the all important goals.

England vs Sri Lanka: Visitors handed mauling in 1st ODI

Eoin Morgan won the toss and elected to have a bowl first, as they bundled out Sri Lanka for 185 within 43 overs. Kusal Perera’s knock of 73 and Wanindu Hasaranga’s 54 stood out for the visitors, while, Chris Woakes and David Wiley impressed with the ball by scalping four and three wickets each.

England did lose wickets at regular intervals, but Jonny Bairstow’s 43 up the order, along with Joe Roots well compiled knock of 79 proved to be enough for the hosts to get the win with five wickets in hand, and 15 overs to play.

The second ODI between England and Sri Lanka will be contested on July 1, at the Oval. The match starts at 5:30 PM (IST). All the games between the two sides will be broadcasted on the Sony Sports Network.
