England vs Pakistan: After whitewashing Pakistan 3-0 in the ODI series, England will be back in action for a three-match T20I series versus Pakistan. The senior players, who missed the ODI series due to COVID-19, are now back in the England squad and are rearing to go. Ben Stokes, who was captaining England not so long ago has been given a break here. It will be Eoin Morgan who resumes duty as normal and captains his unit. As for Pakistan, they will be distraught with their show of performances in the ODIs, but do have a way to redeem themselves in the shortest format. Here are the key players from both ends who could have an impact in the first T20I.
Jason Roy has been one of the most lethal opening batsmen in recent times. Roy has scored 1087 runs from 45 T20Is, at a strike rate of 142. The 30-year-old has also struck five half centuries in the process and could pack a punch against Pakistan here.

Babar Azam is on the back of a sublime knock of 158 in the final ODI, and will be eager to carry on the momentum in the T20Is. The Pakistani captain has been called out as one of the finest batsmen in modern day cricket, and rightfully so. Having featured in 54 T20Is, Babar Azam has scored 2035 runs, at an average of 47.3, which includes 18 fifties and a hundred.

The number 1 T20I batsman might have not had the best of time in the recently concluded ODI series, but does have enough quality to bounce back in the shortest format for England. Dawid Malan has scored 1090 runs from 27 T20Is, while, having an average of 47.4. Other than that, Malan bats at a strike rate of 143, and has 11 fifties as well as a hundred to his name.

The specialist fast bowler did well against England in the ODIs, and can play a pivotal role in the T20I series as well. Hasan Ali has been a part of 36 T20Is, and has also picked up 48 wickets in the process for Pakistan.
Saqib Mahmood was one of the finds of the series, and is expected to take his momentum forward in the T2OIs as well. The fast bowler picked up nine wickets from the three games against Pakistan and was rightfully named as the ‘Player of the series’. Mahmood has featured in six T20Is for England before, having picked up three wickets in the process.
