Heavy losses tough to digest admits Holder

Windies skipper Jason Holder has admitted that heavy losses in Test cricket is tough to digest for him. Windies lost the first Test against India by one innings and 272 runs and the second Test by ten wickets. The Windies captain feels that they need to introspect and work collectively in improving their performance.

We must be responsible for our actions: Holder 

While speaking with the media after the Test series, the Windies captain accepted the mistakes and was ready to take the blame. He said that everyone needs to put their heads together — the management, the selectors and the players and he believes that the onus must be on the players and they must be responsible for their actions.

He admitted that it is hard to take it. He said that he is trying to understand the reasons why it is happening. He thinks that they got to come together a little bit more and find ways and solutions to deal with the problems Windies cricket has at the moment.

Holder appreciates individual brilliances

At the same time, the Windies captain pointed out at some of the positives from this Test series. He accepted that they didn’t play their best cricket but reminded everyone that they all saw some positive performances from Roston Chase. And he thinks that Sherman was awesome.

The right arm pace bowler also praised India by saying that India is No.1 team in the world and they expected to be pushed by them. He admitted that India is a quality cricket side, especially in their own backyard.

Holder points out at issues troubling the team

The Windies captain said that you can look and honestly say they didn’t put enough runs on the board. He admitted that quite for some time now, they have been relatively inconsistent and that has really let them down in the recent past.

He feels that they have heavily relied on middle and lower half which is not ideal and they need to rectify at the top. He added that the the guys in the top five have to put hands up and come to the party.
