Sunrisers Hyderabad were pitted against the Chennai Super Kings for Qualifier 1 on Tuesday. Although they lost the game to Chennai Super Kings, their on-field gesture won millions of hearts.

The SRH players wore black armbands during the match in memory of those who lost their lives in the tragic incident in Nangarhar province, Afghanistan.

Eight people were killed in an explosion at the Spinghar Stadium and more than 50 people were left injured.

This gesture was also a mark of respect for their teammate Rashid Khan who hails from Jalalabad, capital of Nangarhar province.

Sunrisers Hyderabad would be playing their next match in Kolkata to secure a spot in the finals.

The Afghan Cricket Board (ACB) also thanked the team for their efforts.
