IND vs NZ, WTC Final Live: After a decent outing on the previous day, the New Zealand fast bowlers were on top of their game against India on Day 3 of the inaugural ICC World Test Championship (WTC) final at the Rose Bowl in Southampton. 26-year-old Kyle Jamieson was the star performer for New Zealand as he picked up a remarkable five-wicket haul and played a significant role in getting India bowled out for 217 runs in the first innings.

Kyle Jamieson Fifer Rattles India

After picking the prized scalps of Indian opener Rohit Sharma, captain Virat Kohli and Rishabh Pant, New Zealand pacer Kyle Jamieson continued his superb form with the ball in the second session on Day 3 as well. The lanky Kiwi fast bowler removed his Indian pace counterparts, Ishant Sharma and Jasprit Bumrah off consecutive deliveries to pick up his fifth five-wicket haul in Test cricket. India could only add just 6 runs in the second session as Trent Boult dismissed Ravindra Jadeja to bowl out the opposition for a total of 217 runs.

The New Zealand opening pair of Tom Latham and Devon Conway got a great opportunity to bat under a bit of sunshine, which was missing completely during the Indian innings. India’s pace trio of Ishant Sharma, Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Shami did not get much of swing from the wicket as both Conway and Latham countered them excellently well. The Indian bowlers did create a few chances but eventually, New Zealand ended the second session on Day 3 of the WTC Final in complete control at 36 for no loss. Tom Latham is batting on an unbeaten 17 off 70 balls while Devon Conway is 18 not out.
