IND vs SL: Sri Lanka v India series to start on 18 July. Here's new schedule

IND vs SL: The Indian limited-overs side are on a tour to Sri Lanka where they will play 3 ODIs and 3 T20Is under the leadership of Shikhar Dhawan. This time around, the senior players like Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, and Jadeja are in England to play test series against home team starting from August 1st week, The arrangement has also been done regarding following quarantine regulations, and having a final look at the players for the T20 World Cup scheduled later this year. The performers in IPL and domestic cricket, Padikkal, Gaikwad, Sakariya, Rana, and Gowtham have been named in the Indian side for the first time and will be waiting for their opportunity.

IND vs SL series to start from 18 July: Ganguly

The president of the Board of Control for Cricket in India, Sourav Ganguly has confirmed that the limited-overs series between Sri Lanka and India will start from 18 July. The series was earlier slated to start from July 13, but the covid cases in the Sri Lanka team management have now pushed the dates.

After Sri Lanka coach Grant Flower and video analyst was found positive, all the members of Sri Lanka have been tested and found negative. But they are required to follow hard quarantine until 1 week which is the main reason for the delay of the start of the series. It has also been said that the another group of players are practicing in the separate bubble, in case the need arrives. The Sri Lanka players are returning from England, where the cases have jumped to a 6-month record high.

Update for New Schedule for Sri Lanka vs India series

The BCCI secreatry Jay Shah has interacted with Sri Lanka cricket officials regarding the new schedule for the series and it is expected to be announced soon. The team management was not intimated by the officials regarding the schedule until July 9.

“Yes, there is a new schedule for the matches in Sri Lanka,” confirmed Jay Shah, the BCCI secretary.
