IND vs SL: SLC, BCCI Wait for Sri Lanka Team Covid Reports

After 7 members of England ODI contingent were tested positive for Covid-19, the Sri Lanka team has come under the scanner. Both England and Sri Lanka recently played 3 T20Is and as many ODI matches where the players from both the camps came in close contact. This is the reason why the BCCI and SLC are currently anxiously waiting for the reports of Lanka players arrived from England. All the Sri Lanka players and staff members are currently under isolation and their Covid-19 results will be out on 7 July.

“We arrived here [in Colombo] and we haven’t been allowed to enter our rooms without the result of a rapid antigen test, which luckily, I think most of our squad have got through. We’ve done another PCR where the results come out tomorrow (Wednesday). At the end of that ODI there was a fair amount of banter between the two teams – quite a lot of chat and quite a lot of talk – so it did bring about some anxious times,” Sri Lanka coach Mickey Arthur told ESPNcricinfo.
