India vs England: KL Rahul or Mayank Agarwal to replace Shubman Gill in 1st Test – REPORT

IND vs ENG: One of the very few batters who was ready to counter attack when the ball was swinging all over the place from the Indian side was Shubman Gill. He was mighty impressive in the recently concluded final of the World Test Championship. He was ready to take on one of the best swing bowlers going around in Kyle Jamieson and never allowed him to settle.

It was expected that he will be a vital cog at the top of the order for India in the test series against England but India have suffered a huge blow as the young superstar might not be available for the series.

Shubman Gill to miss IND vs ENG Test?

The Punjab lad is all set to miss the first test of the series if not the entire series against England due to an internal injury which he is said to be carrying along with him. It is understood that the Indian management do not want to risk Shubman Gill and in all probability, the KKR Opener might miss out on playing the first test against England starting of 4th August which is more than a month away from now.

By the looks of it, India might not name a replacement player for Shubman Gill as they already have 2 buffer openers in the squad who can replace Shubman Gill at the top of the order.

India vs England: Opportunity for Mayank Agarwal

Mayank Agarwal had a decent series against New Zealand where all the Indian batsmen struggled but he was terrible against Australia in Australia and he lost his place in the Indian test side and is no more a first choice opener.
