What could be the Playing XI for India?

The cricket battle between India and England was off to a rough start as India lost their first Test match to England by 31 runs at Edgbaston. Fans were waiting to see India bounce back big time during their second match, but it was unfortunately delayed due to heavy rain.

People were hoping to see some change in India’s line-up, but it looks like our Captain has faith in his men and didn’t change anything.

The bad weather on Day 1 delayed the toss and eventually the entire game as the rains took no name of stopping. A Leaked image on Twitter shows that the Indian team has had no change to their playing XIs and is the same as their first match.

For the England team this makes sense but for the Indian team, this could be a bit confusing. If this is to be true, then this would break Virat’s 36 match streak by fielding an unchanged playing XIs in back to back matches for the first time.

Having captained the Indian team in 36 matches but never used the same playing XIs in back to back matches has left many scratching their head at Virat’s decision. There were rumours that we could see Kuldeep Yadav and CheteshwarPujara returning to the XI but now it seems that won’t happen.

The image that caused all this controversy was uploaded by a Twitter user under the name “fake_bumrah_”. There is no proof other than what the user has said about the legitimacy of the image. Claiming it to be the match’s scoresheet. The image clearly shows that Virat has made no change to the playing XI.

If this happens to be true, then this will be the first time Virat has fielded an unchanged team in back to back matches since becoming the Test Captain after MS Dhoni. If the bad weather continues, the second Test of the first day might also be called off.
