IRE Playing 11: Ireland will take on South Africa for the third and final T20I of the series here at Belfast. The result of the series is already decided with SA taking a 2-0 lead in the series. Irish bowlers have been impressive this series often having South Africa on the backfoot. But the batsmen have faltered in both the games leaving them in tatters. With just one match to go, the hosts will look for a consolation win which will surely boost their confidence. Both the teams have played two T20Is against each other and SA have come out victorious in both the occasions.

Team News

  • Despite having a reputation of being a dangerous batsman, Kevin O’Brien has failed to get going in both the matches. William McClintock could replace him.

This has been a forgettable series for Paul Stirling. Ireland’s main batsman has failed to get a big score and will be under pressure to score here. The failure of middle order has also resulted in batting collapses. Skipper Andrew Balbirnie will look to lead from the front. Bowlers have been impressive with the new ball and have picked up early wickets. Spinner Simi Singh too has been in good form. But the bowlers have leaked runs at the death.
