Fierce competitors on the field and cricketing superstars on their own terms, but they are allowed to have fun for a moment or two, aren’t they? This IPL has been played in brilliant spirits all throughout and another one of those moments were on display yesterday.

Jofra trying to be a Bumrah?

Jofra Archer and Jasprit Bumrah are two of the most skillful fast-bowlers going around in the world cricket right now. Both have been excellent in the ongoing IPL as well for their respective teams with both competing for the ‘Purple Cap’. But cricketers don’t shy away from having lighter moments even if it’s about their competitor. That’s exactly what happened yesterday when Jofra Archer tried to imitate the unique bowling action of Jasprit Bumrah during the match between Rajasthan Royals and Mumbai Indians. Jofra Archer was trying to hold the ball in a same way as his MI counterpart does as his other teammates found that funny.

Ben Stokes leads an epic chase!

Abu Dhabi became witness to a showdown to remember yesterday. Batting first, Ishan Kishan and Suryakumar Yadav laid down a platform for others to come after MI lost Quinton de Kock early. Saurabh Tiwary also contributed useful runs in the middle but major act of the innings came from the bat of Hardik Pandya. He played a squash buckling innings of 60 from just 21 balls and took a particular liking to couple of Indian fast-bowlers. That knock also included 7 towering sixes to propel MI to a score of 195 runs.

In reply, Robin Uthappa and Steve Smith went early but Ben Stokes had some other ideas regarding the chase. He combined with Sanju Samson to prove a point on all the talks about his IPL career and he did it some style. An innings of courage and extraordinary class came to take RR over the line without any further damage. He made 107 while Sanju Samson also wrote a story on his own with 54.
