There are plenty of similarities in the way KKR and KXIP won their first games. Both teams were behind their opponents throughout the match but some decisive blows and inspired performances in the final stages won them the game.

And now they meet each other at Eden Gardens where high scores are expected. Th batting line-ups are as strong as ever and hence between KKR and KXIP the team with better bowling performance may emerge the winner.

We look at the three key players for KKR vs KXIP IPL 2019.

#3. Mohammad Shami-

The pace bowler went wicketless in the first match but these numbers don’t reveal his impact. He conceded just 33 runs and importantly bowled in key phases of the match.

Shami had eight dot balls and gave away just four boundaries in his four overs. This shows his tight grip on the batsmen and against KKR he will be playing at his home ground so expect him to make some statement.

#2. Sunil Narine-

The KKR spinner went for 29 runs off three overs in first match but even then he will be a big threat for Punjab.

KKR may want to use him to neutralise the threat of Gayle and also to weaken Punjab’s middle order.

Narine’s economy of 5.97 in T20s may play a key role in this match.

#1 Chris Gayle-

The Universal Boss is back with a bang. He has proved that his hitting ability is still intact and what’s more he looks even more dangerous now.

Importantly he chooses his moments to attack and this could break the rhythm of KKR’s  mighty bowling line-up.

Gayle scored 34 runs off 29 balls in the first ten overs but between 11 to 15 overs he ransacked 45 runs off just 18 balls. Thus KKR  will have to ensure that they don’t lose the steam against Gayle otherwise he will leave them in tatters.

These two players will also be crucial in the KKR vs KXIP IPL 2019 match.

#2. Sarfaraz Khan-

More than Gayle’s hitting, Sarfaraz Khan’s crucial cameo would have soothed Punjab.

The youngster rose to the occasion and scored 46 runs off 29 balls and delivered the finishing touches.

His form is important for Punjab as he can provide the punch in their death overs.

#1. Andre Russell-

An Astonishing cameo of 49 runs off 19 balls in the first match has proved Russell’s credentials as one of the best finishers in T20 cricket.

The KKR batsman clobbered Bhuvneshwar Kumar, one of the best death over bowlers for 21 runs in one over and this will surely play in Punjab bowlers’ mind when they face him on Wednesday.
