MI Playing 11: Defending champions will be taking on Royal Challengers Bangalore here in the IPL 14 opener. Both of the cricket’s modern day stalwarts Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli will be looking to start their respective seasons on a high. These two teams have met 27 times before with Mumbai leading comfortably with 17 wins as compared to Bangalore’s 10. In the last season, RCB won a thrilling match that went into a Super Over when Virat Kohli scored the winning runs off Jasprit Bumrah. However, MI were good enough to win the reverse fixture.

Quinton de Kock arrived in India through a chartered flight which may prevent him from the mandatory quarantine period. If that happens, he will be available for this game and will open along with Rohit Sharma. Otherwise, Lynn is going to open with Kishan taking the wicketkeeping gloves.
Here is how the MI’s eleven could be shaped for this blockbuster match:

R Sharma (C)
C Lynn
S Yadav
I Kishan (wk)

The 5-time champions MI will look to stamp their authority as they have done in the last few years. They have been the best IPL team so far. Players like Pollard, Bumrah, Pandya brothers have been the backbone of this line-up for years now. Their strong core makes them one of the favorites for this season too.
