Yesterday, India celebrated its 72nd Independence Day. The social media was filled with patriotic messages from people from all over the country. Celebrities, sportsperson, politicians etc. were very happy and cheerful and everyone was filled with pride.

SANIA MIRZA, MITHALI RAJ GET TROLLED ON INDEPENDENCE DAY

A controversy came to public light when one of the fans was seen wishing Indian tennis star, Sania Mirza, on Pakistan’s Independence Day on August 14. Sania smartly replied to his query on her nationality.

Incidentally, another sportswoman, India’s cricket team 50-over captain Mithali Raj also faced a troll who tried to pull her leg for being late on wishing Independence Day on Twitter.

Mithali is currently a part of the Women’s Challenger Trophy in Bangalore. Playing for the India Blue, she scored 51 runs but her knock went in vain as her team managed to put a paltry 100-run total on board. Deepti Sharma then played a good knock for her team (45 runs not out off 44 balls) as India Red won the match in 16.3 overs as per the VJD method. Mithali’s team suffered another loss in the next game where they were defeated by India Green, led by Veda Krishnamurthy.
