Ahmed Shehzad has tested positive in a recently conducted doping test.

He could now face a ban of three months and he might be dropped for the upcoming tour of Zimbabwe, reports suggest.

The 26-year old was tested during the Pakistan Cup, the country’s five-team one-day tournament which was held from April 19 to May 1.

Shehzad played for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa during the season and was the highest run-getter of the tournament. He scored 372 runs at an average of 74.40 which included three fifties and a ton.

This is not for the first time that Shehzad has come into limelight for wrong reasons. He has been in and out of the national team after the end of World T20 in India, where the team got eliminated in the group stage. Following the poor run of the team, head coach Waqar Younis recommended dropping him and Umar Akmal from the team.

Shehzad was included in the series against Scotland after  Babar was ruled out of the series after suffering injury.
