India’s abysmal performance in the Test series against England has attracted heavy criticism on the players as well as the support staff. Several former cricketers have questioned the role of Indian head coach Ravi Shastri. Now former India India cricketer Chetan Chauhan has also joined the bandwagon and he wants Ravi Shastri to be removed from the post of India’s head coach before the tour of Australia.

Former Indian opening batsman Chetan Chauhan who is currently the sports minister of Uttar Pradesh was speaking with the media personals when he raised questions over Shastri’s coaching abilities.
He said that Ravi Shastri should be removed as head coach before the Australia tour. Chauhan also added that Ravi Shastri is a very good cricket commentator and he should be allowed to do so.
Talking about the Test series which India lost 1-4, Chauhan said that Team India should have performed better. He pointed out that both the teams were evenly matched. But the Indian team failed to check tailenders of England.
Chauhan doesn’t agree with Shastri’s claim that this team is the best travelling team
At the same time, the former India opening batsman refuted the claim made by Shastri that this current team led by Virat Kohli is the best travelling team in the world right now.
Chauhan said that he does not agree with this statement. He added that in 1980s, the Indian team was the best travelling team in the world.
Chauhan expects better result in Asia cup
Chauhan was also asked about India’s chances in the Asia cup. The former India cricketer replied that he is expecting a better result as the team is perfectly balanced with experienced and young players.
In the recent times, Ravi Shastri has been targeted by cricket analysts and former players for his coaching skills and former players like Saurav Ganguly and Virender Sehwag have demanded Shastri to be removed from the job.
