The current #1 batsman in the world Virat Kohli got the Test captaincy of team India at the age of 26. This happened after former captain MS Dhoni announced his abrupt retirement from the game in 2014. Since then Kohli has had a successful run as captain and along with that created a number of records.

Being of a young age, Kohli can still lead the team for another 7-8 years. During this time you can be assured that team India will make and break more records. Naturally many fans and experts have their predictions for the captain. A bold prediction and an indication of how much faith he has in Kohli came from veteran Virender Sehwag.

During an interview with IndiaTV on the show ‘Cricket ki Baat’, Sehwag spoke highly about Kohli. Sehwag said that as a captain, their job is not to count wins but to play their best and guide their team to victory. Bringing the current captain into the matter, he continued by saying, Kohli’s performance is above par. He also remarked that Kohli has massively improved as a batsman. “He’ll be one of the best captains India has had in the time to come. There’s no doubt about that.  Sehwag said.

As a captain, Kohli has made it his signature style or statement to change the playing XI’s line up before every match. He has never fielded the same XI in back to back matches. In the 38 Test matches he has overseen, he has made at least one change in the playing XI.

This attitude has brought up many questions ahead of their 4th Test match. This time it seems that Kohli might have to play the same XI as they did in the 3rd Test match. Currently, the only player in doubt is R. Ashwin. This is because he has been suffering from a groin strain since the first Test match at Lord’s.

If Ashwin is cleared to play, it would leave no reason to replace anyone on the team. The line up that played at Trent Bridge was tight and effective. many fans and experts believe that there is no reason to change this. The 4th test match will start on August 30th at Southampton. Currently, England is in the lead with 2-1. This has put a lot of pressure on India because if England wins the 4th Test, they will have won the series.

Sehwag, the man who made this bold and positive prediction for Kolhi was also the one who called the  4th test match a ‘do or die’ match for team India. He also added that it will be tough but not impossible for our boys.
