Sunrisers Hyderabad and Kings XI Punjab find themselves in a similar territory. Both have five wins in 11 games and they can get maximum to 16 points in IPL 2019, something which will barely qualify them for the play-offs.

But their paths are crossed which means amongst them only one team can get to 16 points and we will find out which is that team on Monday night.

Team News:

Williamson opened the innings in Bairstow’s absence with Manish Pandey batting at number three in the last game. The same can be expected against Punjab but will they include Mujeeb in the place of Shakib?

Form Guide:

Both teams have strong opening pairs followed by a vulnerable middle order. Spin remains the strength for both of them however Hyderabad will expect Rashid to pick a few more wickets.

Meanwhile Pandey has added spine in Hyderabad’s middle-order while their pace department is doing fine.

Key Numbers:

  • SRH have dominated KXIP in head to head battles. SRH has won nine matches while Punjab has won only four games.

  • In the last nine matches between the two teams, Punjab have won only two matches.

Players in focus:

With 198 runs in 7 innings, Manish Pandey’s numbers indicate that he is struggling in IPL 2019. However the SRH batsman has scored back to back fifties in his last two innings to make a statement and the team management has promoted him to number three. Can he continue his good form against Punjab as well?

With his smartness and accuracy, R Ashwin has brought back the glory to off-spinners in IPL 2019. He has 12 wickets in 11 innings so far but importantly has given away just 7.18 runs per over. He will be a key for Punjab against SRH’s mighty strong top-order.
