Team India posted 329 in the first innings and they continued to dominate the third Test against England at Trent Bridge as they bowled out England for 161 to take a commanding lead of 292 runs at the close of play on Day 2.

Hardik Pandya shined in the third Test as he picked his maiden five-fer to rip apart the batting order of England. With conditions perfectly suitable for swing bowling, Pandya, Jasprit Bumrah and Ishant Sharma kept striking at regular intervals to prevent England from making a comeback.

Apart from Bowlers, it was Pant who stole the limelight on his debut. He grabbed Alastair Cook behind the stumps to open his account as wicketkeeper and he went on to take four more catches in the innings.

After a disappointing show in the first two Tests, India made a strong comeback and Indian supporters are brimming with pride after watching their remarkable performance. Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar was one of the first ones to jump with elation as India portrayed a great show of grit and determination. Sachin Tendulkar urged team India to finish it off with three days still to go for the third Test.

“Fantastic cricket, both in front and behind the wickets. Congratulations @hardikpandya7 and @RishabPant777 on your respective 5 wicket-hauls! Let’s nip this in the bud now.”

Pandya returned with the match figures 5/28 as he took his first five-wicket haul in Test cricket while as Rishabh Pant scripted history by becoming the first Indian wicketkeeper to claim five dismissals on his debut.

Their combined show has ignited the hopes of keeping the Test series alive. Currently, India trail 0-2, and a win would make the scoreline of the series 1-2 which means India would still have an opportunity to win the Test series against England.

Apart from Tendulkar, many other cricketers have also heaped praises on the Indian cricket team.
