Tweeple wants Shaw to replace KL Rahul

Young Prithvi Shaw replaced Murali Vijay in the Indian squad and now Twitterati wants the 18-year old to be included in the playing XI in the fourth Test in Southampton on August 30.

Many people took to Twitter to express that they wanted to Prithvi Shaw to play at the cost of opener KL Rahul who has failed to perform with the bat.

The India U-19 World Cup winning skipper Shaw has earned his maiden Test call-up and if he goes on to play in the next he will add a feather to his cap with yet another milestone.

The teenage prodigy has been hogging headlines for quite some time now. From breaking records at the school level to bringing U-19 glory for the nation, Shaw has worked wonders.

KL Rahul, on the other hand has only amassed 94 runs in last three Test matches at an average of 15.66.

Shaw continued his impressive form for India A in their recent tour of England and he scored three centuries. He also scored a century for India A against South A in India.

Twitter is pressing for Shaw to be roped in the playing XI because no Indian opener has been able to thrive on the English soil. Indian team have tried to rotate Dhawan, Vijay and Rahul as openers but they didn’t succeed in the experiment.

KL Rahul came in the playing XI at the cost of Cheteshwar Pujara in the first Test and he was included in the second Test after replacing Shikhar Dhawan. In third Test skipper Kohli decided to bench Murali Vijay and give Rahul a chance. However, KL Rahul hasn’t been able to shine with the bat in the ongoing Test series.

India will be playing their next Test match against England in Southampton which is all set to start from August 30.
