“Virat’s absence won’t affect the team” says Ganguly

Former Indian skipper Sourav Ganguly said that the absence of Test captain Virat Kohli will not affect the team. India is expected to have a high-voltage clash with arch-rivals Pakistan on Wednesday after they face off against Hong Kong on Tuesday.

India currently has a 6-5 win-loss record against Pakistan from the 12 encounters they’ve had in the continental events. During a promotional event, Ganguly said it will be neck and neck, 50-50 contest.

India does have a higher chance of winning given that India has won the title six times as opposed to the two times Pakistan won it.

Many questions have risen due to the absence of Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma filling in as Captain. Regardless, Ganguly believes Virat’s absence will not be a factor as team India are the better side.

The last time India played Pakistan was during the Champion’s Trophy finals. This was where the boys in blue lost by a huge margin of 180 runs. Before facing their arch-rivals, India will have to face Hong Kong on Tuesday. The day after on Wednesday, India and Pakistan will reignite their war.
