Indian pace bowler Jasprit Bumrah stirred the cricket world with his unorthodox bowling action when he arrived in international cricket. His unique use of his non-bowling arm while bowling makes his action distinctive and difficult to emulate. However one of Bumrah’s fan has posted a video on Twitter in which a five-year-old Pakistani kid is emulating the Indian pace bowler.
Former Indian cricketer Virender Sehwag celebrated his 40th birthday on 20th October and Jasprit Bumrah wished Sehwag on Twitter. One of Bumrah’s fans responded to that tweet by posting a video of a five-year-old kid who bowls like the Indian pacer. The fan wrote in his tweet, ‘5 Years Old kid from pak is a big fan of You.. after watching you in the recently concluded Asia cup every time he tries to bowl like him.’
In this video, the kid is seen using his non-bowling arm just like Bumrah while bowling. This video became a hit on the social media and even the Indian bowler responded to this tweet.
The Indian pace bowler felt happy that kids are copying his bowling action and he also admitted that when he was a kid, he used to copy action of his cricketing heroes.
While responding to the video of the five-year-old-Pakistan kid, the pace bowler tweeted, ‘As a kid, I remember how I used to copy the actions of my cricketing heroes.
It’s a wonderful feeling to see kids copying my action today.#childhoodflashbacks #Grateful #nostalgia.’
The pace bowler first came in the limelight when he played for Mumbai Indians in the IPL. His unique bowling action and ability to skid the ball on the surface fast-tracked him into the national team and now the right-arm pace bowler has 72 wickets in 41 ODIs and 28 wickets in six Tests. He is also the current number one bowler in ICC ODI bowling rankings.
