Virat Kohli: Indian cricket’s rockstar

Indian cricket captain Virat Kohli is always expressive on the field and he likes to keep things happening. An instance of Kohli’s animated behaviour was seen on the third day of the second Test between India and Windies.  The Indian captain asked the crowd to cheer for the team and the audience responded in an empathetic manner.

It is believed that the crowd is like the 12th player in cricket. Several cricketers have admitted that the support created by the audience during a cricket match has a massive effect on the players as it motivates them to push themselves and when they are at the receiving end of it, the noise creates extra pressure.

Kohli knows this very well and on numerous occasions he has asked the crowd to raise their voice and cheer the home team. He did the same against Windies in the second innings.

The game was in the balance when Windies started their second innings, but then Indian bowlers produced a superb show and picked wickets in quick succession. However, these quick wickets didn’t excite the crowd present at the Hyderabad stadium and then the Indian captain encouraged the crowd to support team India.
