Ambati Rayudu turned 33 on Sunday and Team India decided to give Rayudu a ‘cake facial’ on his special day. After India registered a thumping victory against Pakistan by nine wickets on Sunday, the men-in-blue rushed off to the dressing room. Not just for celebrating a record-breaking win against their neighbours, but also for celebrating Rayudu’s birthday in Team India style!

Rayudu came down to bat after Shikhar Dhawan went back to the pavilion after smashing a scintillating 114. India needed 27 runs to win and Rayudu along with skipper Rohit Sharma finished the match for India.

Team India celebrated Rayudu’s birthday after the match.

All the teammates can be seen rubbing cake on Rayudu’s face and singing a birthday song for him.

The Instagram handle of Indian cricket team also posted pictures of the celebrations on the social media site and captioned, “Happy Birthday @a.t.rayudu. What followed was a typical cake smash #TeamIndia style ???? ????

Rayudu’s comeback in ODI squad

Rayudu was named in the India ODI squad for England tour backing on his successful IPL stint, but he was left out because he failed the yo-yo test. He cleared the yo-yo test ahead of the Asia Cup and sealed a spot in the Indian ODI squad. As a key middle-order batsman, Rayudu has scored 60 runs against Hong Kong, 31* against Pakistan and 13 against Bangladesh.

India will be playing their next match against Afghanistan on 25th September 2018 at Dubai International Stadium, Dubai in a dead-rubber for their last super four match. India have already sealed a berth in the finals and their opponents are yet to be decided.

The other finalist of the tournament will be decided after the match between Pakistan and Bangladesh which is slated to take place on Wednesday.
