DAY-1- India manage to recover after a shaky start

Team India are all set to play their first Test match against England on August 1 in Edgbaston, Birmingham.

But before India take on England for the five-match Test series, Virat Kohli and Co. are playing a three-day warm-up game against Essex.

India suffered a shaky start as they lost early wickets as Matt Coles struck twice as he dismissed Dhawan and Cheteshwar Pujara in his opening two overs. Quinn then removed Ajinkya Rahane to graven India’s troubles. Although Essex marked a great opening start, the visitors recovered in the final session to conclude the day at 322/6.
On the first day, from India side, Virat Kohli, Murali Vijay, and KL Rahul notched up half-centuries to help India stabilize their innings.

Day 2 Warm Up- DK’s Day out

On the second day, Dinesh Karthik and Hardik Pandya posted half-centuries. Kohli scored 68 runs while KL Rahul (58) and Murali Vijay (53) also spent time in the middle.

Dinesh Karthik top-scored with 82 runs as he built a partnership of 61 runs with Hardik Pandya.

India got all-out for 395.

Bowlers’ prowess 
Indian bowlers performed well in their warm-up match against Essex in Chelmsford. Ishant Sharma gave 38 runs in 10 overs, Umesh Yadav gave 23 runs in 14 overs. Both of them grabbed 2 wickets each.

Shardul Thakur gave 40 runs in 9 overs. He got 1 wicket as he dismissed Essex captain Tom Westley.
