Team India scripted history at Sydney cricket ground by defeating Australia 2-1 in the four match Test series. This is India’s first series win Down Under and Virat Kohli’s men celebrated the win in style. The team performed the unique ‘Pujara Dance’ at the ground led by Rishabh Pant and continued the celebrations at the hotel as well.
Bad weather ensured that there was no play on the fifth day of the fourth Test which meant the Test ended in a draw and India clinched the series 2-1.
Soon after the presentations, Team India celebrated the win at the ground and the highlight of the celebration was the entire team performing the ‘Pujara Dance’ initiated by young wicket-keeper Rishabh Pant.
The Indian captain Virat Kohli celebrated the win at the ground with his wife Anushka Sharma.
The Indian team resumed the celebrations soon after arriving at their hotel. The team danced on some popular Bollywood songs.
The Indian captain Virat Kohli was delighted to win the series and said that he has never been more proud of being part of a team, than this one right here. He noted that their transition began right here, where he took over as captain, and he can’t believe that after four years they have won here.
He stated that the boys make the captain look good and by far, this is his biggest achievement. It’s at the top of the pile and after coming three times, this win means something else.
He explained that they spoke about their batting as a team, wanted to do the basics. The old, hard grind. He said special mention to Pujara, as he has been outstanding in the series, especially after his last time out in Australia. Kohli noted that Pujara is one guy willing to accept things, he works on his game, he’s the nicest man around, and they feel happy for him.
