Chennai Super Kings vs Delhi Daredevils

The Big Picture

A new guard in captaincy seemed to have worked wonders for the Daredevils as they finally broke their series of dismal performances with am all-round win over the Kolkata Knight Riders last week. Spearheaded by their skipper Iyer, who scored a pristine 93 off 40 balls and Prithvi Shaw’s maiden IPL fifty. the Daredevils plundered this seasons’ highest IPL total, 4-219.

The batting was complimented by an all-round bowling performance spearheaded by Boult (2-44) and Liam Plunkett (0–24), who bowled nagging line and lengths to derail KKR’s chase. The game against CSK now offers Delhi an opportunity to continue with the winning momentum.

Where: Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium, Pune

When: 30 April 2018, 8:00 PM

After notching up three wins in a row, the Super Kings went down to the Mumbai Indians in their last encounter. Two widely debated chinks in CSK’s armor once again proved to be their nemesis. While their batting shuddered in the middle-overs, the hamstring injury to Deepak Chahar, who has been ruled out for at least two weeks, meant they were plagued with their death bowling. Thakur (0-38) bowled the penultimate bowler and was clobbered for four boundaries by Rohit.

Pitch Conditions:

The Pitch at the M.C.A Stadium favors the batsmen with the average first innings score hovering from 151 in 2012 to 162 last year, 48.5 % of the matches have been won by the team batting first (16) while team batting second have won 51.5% of three matches (17).
