IPL Schedule – Twitter Updates

While there is nothing officially said about the date on which the IPL will return, there have been speculations which have been rife about there being a conflict between the dates of the IPL final and the T20i world cup. The Indian team is currently in England while there will be a team playing a series in Sri Lanka too. The window for the IPL therefore is really small as the T20 world cup begins on 18th of October.

As per the tweet on the official twitter handle of BCCI , the World T20 is going to be held in the UAE and Oman.

BCCI to host ICC T20 World Cup in UAE Oman

This gives the players the window to stay in UAE and not have to worry about the quarantine regulations. While the Indian fans will not have the opportunity to watch the tournament live, it gives the BCCI a chance to host both the tournaments simultaneously. The IPL is a big tournament with a lot of stakeholders involved so it is definitely not wise to let go of a tournament like that.

IPL 2021: Team wise analysis

The IPL games that were completed saw a few teams do really well. The Delhi Capitals were lead by Rishabh Pant in the absence of Shreyas Iyer due to injury and by the time the IPL stopped for postponement, they had won 6 out of their 8 games. Word is yet to be out about the status of Shreyas Iyer and whether he will be back or whether he will be leading the side or not. At the bottom of the table were Sunrisers Hyderabad who won just 1 game out of 7. They saw a change in their captaincy too with Kane Williamson taking over from David Warner. Though they are struggling, they will now have a captain who has succeeded in winning the ICC Test Championship and that is definitely going to play in their favour. They would have to figure out the way they are going to handle David Warner who was left out in the last few games and that is going to be a challenge going forward. The team combination is never a problem for Chennai Super Kings who always back the team they play. They are doing really well in the tournament after a troublesome tournament in the last edition. The mastermind at their hem MS Dhoni masterminded a turnaround brilliantly however they will be a little pensive thinking about the tournament going into the UAE where they have struggled historically. They showed that they will back their team when they backed Rituraj Gaekwad despite a few failures. He delivered and the faith that was shown in him by his captain was repaid pretty efficiently. Royal Challengers have over the years been the team that has often been trolled for their performances in the IPL found their mark brilliantly in the tournament and have managed to win 5 out of 7 games this time around and that has been quite a hope builder for their fans. This is going to make them hope for going bigger and better and finally seeing a trophy in the hands of superstar Virat Kohli. Mumbai Indians have been known to start off really slow in such tournament and it is going to be fun to watch how the gap will affect a team that usually peaks around the middle phase of the tournament. As of now they have  lost 3 games but once the teams come thick and fast, you will see this team step up to the plate and be at the top of the table. The Rajasthan Royals team has not done well in close games but are still pretty much in contention and keeping in touch with the top 4. They have seen a new captain in Sanju Samson who is usually known as a maverick has been wonderful with his performances. They have also seen a new superstar emerge in the form of Chris Morris and would now also be looking at heroes from the previous season like Rahul Tewatia be involved now. They are also awaiting word on the likes of Jofra Archer and his availability in the IPL. Kolkata Knight Riders have really struggled in this tournament and have not got going in anyway under the leadership of Eoin Morgan. They will now be looking to restart with a fresh mindset once the IPL restarts. Punjab Kings had KL Rahul take them to a fresh start and some inspirational wins however they are still suffering from the inconsistencies that have plagued them. The teams were constantly dealing with an impending question throughout the last few days. The question was common for fans too. Is IPL 2021 postponed? Well, we can say it was soon because it will resume in September.
