Desmond Haynes is one of West Indies’ most successful batsman in the history and was a vital player during West Indies’ dominance in the 1980s. He, along with Gordon Greenidge, formed a partnership that tormented the bowling attack of opponents and helped West Indies to a number of victories. He still holds the record for highest score on an ODI Debut and was also the Captain of West Indies Cricket Team during 1989-1991. He is currently serving as a Director of the West Indies Cricket Board.
