Dimuth Karunaratne (Sri Lankan Cricketer)
A left-hand top-order batsman, Dimuth Karunaratne has established himself as a regular in Sri Lanka’s Test lineup. Regarded as a second-innings specialist by cricket experts, Karunaratne has played more than 50 tests for Sri Lanka. However, he was not able to replicate the five-day format form in the limited-over cricket and was left out of the setup.

Strong performances with Sri Lanka’s A team against visiting South Africa A in 2009 earned him national call-up.
Karunaratne is the second Sri Lankan opener after Tillakaratne Dilshan to register three Test tons in a calendar year.
Karunaratne was the second batsman, after Dean Elgar, to get to 1000 Test runs in calendar year 2017. He became the seventh Sri Lankan to register 1000 Test runs in a calendar year.
Karunaratne is the third Sri Lankan batsman, after Sanath Jayasuriya and Tillakaratne Dilshan, to score a hundred in 50th Test.
Dimuth Karunaratne is one of the four Sri Lankan batsmen to carry the bat through a completed innings in a Test.
