Barcelona star out for 2 weeks, to miss tonight’s UCL fixture

Barcelona striker Luis Suarez has entered the Barcelona list of injured players. The Uruguayan will be sidelined for two weeks because of a right knee injury.

According to the club, Suarez will undergo stem cell treatment on the injury. He will be undergoing stem cell treatment on his right knee to make his spell on the sideline as short as possible.

 

Luis Suarez had a slow start to the 2018-19 season and was coming back to form in the last couple of games. However, injury intervened against Atletico Madrid on Saturday that could possibly rule him out for two weeks, and four games, including tonight’s UEFA champions league clash.

Messi in a central position?

Lionel Messi is expected to take a more central position in Suarez’s absence. Coutinho and Dembele will be on either side.

Barcelona Injury List

Midfielder Rafinha is another who needs surgery because of a torn ligament in his right knee and is expected to return to action early next season.

Reserve goalkeeper Jasper Cillessen, midfielder Arthur Melo also among others on the sidelines.

Ivan Rakitic and Coutinho have regained fitness but it remains to be seen whether they start or not.
