Indian talismanic star Sunil Chhetri is set to miss a friendly match against Jordan after taking a grade one ankle injury while playing for Bengaluru FC in Indian Super League against Kerala.

Chhetri took the injury on 5th November when he was attacked by the Indian companion Sandesh Jhinganin on the field during an ISL match. Chhetri’s ankle twisted in the 17th minute of the game. Still, he stayed at the field to help Bengaluru FC to get the victory against Kerala by 2-1.

Official statement:

Chhetri underwent an MRI scan as he was moving uncomfortably after the game. The report was shared with the All India Football Federation (AIFF), and it was decided to give him rest,” said a Bengaluru FC official after the game.
