Morocco vs Iran, Match 3

Morocco will be up against Iran in the first match of Group-B. This will be the first time when these two teams will collide in a World Cup game.

When: June 15, 08:30 PM IST

Where: Arena St Petersburg

Morocco has been on song with a dominating 17 match unbeaten streak which will be the x-factor for them going into this game. This will be their first appearance in the mega event after the 1998 edition in France.

Group-B is considered as one of the toughest group of this year’s edition as the other two teams in this group are the Euro Cup champions Portugal and the 2010 world champions Spain who are considered two teams to make it to the knockouts quite comfortably.

Iran surprisingly were the second team to book their tickets for Russia after Brazil. They breezed through qualifying with 12 clean sheets, but their fortunes didn’t favor them as they are in the group of death.

The last time these two teams squared off, the match ended in a goalless draw. Talking about the last six games for both the sides, Morocco have been assertive as they have only considered 3 goals and scored 11, they haven’t lost a single game with only one game ended in a draw against Ukraine.

Iran had some mix performance if we consider their last 6 games as they have won 4 and lost 2 but their game has been impressive throughout the friendly season.
