FIFA World Cup 2018

Serbia vs Switzerland

The last match of the day will witness a clash between two Group-E teams Serbia and Switzerland. The former is sitting pretty at the top of the group table while the later is in the third position. Serbia started off their campaign with a win against Costa Rica by 2-0 while Switzerland drew level against the group heavyweights Brazil.

When: June 22th, 11:30 PM IST

Where: Kaliningrad Stadium

Switzerland are considered the dark horse in every edition of the mega event. No one can forget when they handed a 0-1 loss to the eventual champions Spain in the 2010 edition. While in the 2014 edition they showed some defiant class and temperament which saw them penetrating the Round of 16 hurdle where they faced the then runners-up Argentina and fought hard for a win until going down 0-1.

Serbia's midfielder Aleksander Koralov states that they are not at all in a hurry in this tournament as they are not putting their feet on the paddle and taking one game at a time. Serbia has not been able to breach the group stages ever since their independence, they were out in the first leg of the tournament in the year 2006 and 2010.

Fatigue might be a factor for some players on either side with the workload the teams are going through but with some confidence under Switzerland's belt after playing a draw against the heavyweights Brazil. Though the Swiss are not considered to lift the trophy this year but the Alpine nation is unbeaten in their last 5 games.

Talking about the head to head encounters between the two sides, this is the first time the two teams are squaring off in an International fixture.
