Bengal Warriors vs Tamil Thalaivas Match Preview, Team News, Lineups
Pro Kabaddi League 2018 | Bengal Warriors vs Tamil Thalaivas
Bengal Warriors will start their Pro Kabaddi campaign from Thursday when they face the home favourites Tamil Thalaivas at the Jawahar Lal Nehru Stadium in Chennai which will also be the last match of Chennai leg.
Bengal had an excellent run in the last edition of Pro Kabaddi as they ended up on the top of the ladder in Zone B which included the eventual champions Patna Pirates. They have retained much of their core group in a quest to lift the Pro Kabaddi glory.
Their raid department is intact with the likes of Maninder Singh and Jang Kun Lee. Maninder who was phenomenal last year with 190 raid points to his name at an astonishing average of 9.05 per match and a breathtaking not-out percentage of 82.01 is enough for his last year’s miraculous performance.
In defence, the rock-solid skipper Surjeet Singh is the biggest barrier for any opposition raider as his dash to his opponent from the right corner is extremely lethal which takes the opposition raiders out of bounds.
Tamil Thalaivas would be playing their last game in front of the home crowd and would love to give the fans a winning send-off. There has been some dip in form for the Thalaivas who started with a bang taming the defending champions in the tournament opener.
They are relying too much on their skipper Ajay Thakur in the raiding department for which they have to find an alternative as Jasvir Singh is not performing to his potential. With three straight losses, now it is high time for the Thalaivas to get themselves going otherwise things can get really difficult for them moving into the next leg.
