MIN vs NOP DREAM11 MATCH PREVIEW:

Minnesota Timberwolves will be playing as a host against New Orleans Pelicans in an NBA match at Target Center, in Minneapolis, Minnesota, on Thursday morning (IST).

Minnesota Timberwolves:

Finally, the move that was destined to happen, and which should have gone through in the off-season for the benefits of all parties concerned, saw its long protracted end when Jimmy Butler became a Philadelphia 76ers player just a few days ago. Though Butler left a big hole, the deal, in the end, was a good one for Wolves as they got Dario Sario in return from the Sixers.

However, there are reports in USA media that the damage has already been done in Minnesota and things have gone way beyond the repairing. There is an apparent dissatisfaction between head coach Tom Thibodeau and owner Glen Taylor after the Butler saga. Also, there are rumours that Thibodeau may not even see the end of the campaign and could quit midway in the season.

Talking about the form, Minnesota played their first match post-Butler-era and won 120-113 against Brooklyn Nets, also snapping a five-game losing streak. Karl-Anthony Towns scored 25 points for Wolves, while Jeff Teague and Derrick Rose dropped 24 and 23 points respectively. The sale of Butler could prove to be a blessing in disguise for Minnesota as the team may benefit from a healthy dressing room environment.

New Orleans Pelicans:

New Orleans Pelicans are on a three-game winning streak at the moment after beating Toronto Raptors 110-126 in an away game. Now with a 7-6 record, New Orleans are 11th in the table, but importantly, they are just two wins away from 3rd placed Denver Nuggets.

Pelicans started their new season with four straight wins and looked the most complete opponent to rival the Golden State Warriors for the Western Conference premiership. However, Anthony Davis’ untimely injury derailed the momentum and Pelicans ended up losing six straight games. But the recent wins have brought back the confidence back to the franchise.

Regular Season Record-
Minnesota Timberwolves: W-5, L-9
New Orleans Pelicans: W-7, L-6

Players to watch out for:

Minnesota Timberwolves:

Karl-Anthony Towns – With Jimmy Butler gone, he is the undisputed king in Minneapolis now. The 22-year-old averaging 20.3 points per game this season, and the numbers are expected to go further as Anthony is expected to be the focal points for this franchise.

Derrick Rose – His career has been marred by too many injuries and he also had to play as a second fiddle to Butler in the last few seasons. But Rose is a former NBA MVP, having won this prestigious personal accolade in 2011, and is showing the signs of his old self.

New Orleans Pelicans:

Anthony Davies – Has hit the top form yet again in the last three matches. The 25-year-old scored 25, 26 and 32 points in the last three matches respectively. A candidate for NBA MVP all season, the Pelicans’ superstar is definitely a go-to-man if you are looking for a star player for your NBA fantasy team.

Jrue Holiday A seasoned campaigner for his team now and his importance for his team is evidently clear as Pelicans rebuffed Minnesota Timberwolves’ offer of Jimmy Butler in exchange of Jrue Holiday. The 28-year-old is racking up 19.5 points per game this season.
