Sana Mir is a Pakistani cricketer who is also a former captain of Pakistan national cricket team in both ODIs and T20Is. Her role in playing11 is precise as a right-arm offbreak bowler. Sana Mir began her cricket career in the year 2005. In 2009, Sana was handed the Pakistan captaincy for the Women’s World Twenty20. During her captaincy, eight Pakistani players made their way into the Top 20 ICC rankings. At the 2008 Women’s Cricket World Cup Qualifier, she was awarded ‘Player of the Tournament’ title. She currently ranks No.1 in the Women’s ODI Bowlers.

At the 2010 Asian Games, Mir led the Women Pakistani team to a gold medal, first one in 2010 and the other was in 2014. After winning the National Championship fourth time in a row, Sana Mir has become the most successful captain of Pakistan at the domestic level.

During her captaincy, Pakistan for the first time beat South Africa, which also improved the team ranking from 8th position to 6th.

  • In 2011, Sana led Pakistan to its first-ever tournament win in both ODI and T20I formats. The series was taking place in Sri Lanka.
