New Zealand cricketer Mitchell McClenaghan is a left-arm medium-fast bowler who plays in limited over internationals. Born on 11 June 1986, Mitchell was raised in Auckland, New Zealand. The 2008 Under-19 World Cup is a turning point for his career where he was selected as a replacement to injured Kyle Mills. He began his domestic career for Central Districts in 2009-2010. In no time he showed his match-winning performance and emerged as a talented player. He made his ODI debut against South Africa in 2011-12 and became the second kiwi player to take four wickets on debut after Dayle Hadlee.

Mitchell is the fastest bowler to take 50 wickets for New Zealand in One Day Internationals. He is also a part of one of the IPL Franchise– Mumbai Indians since 2017. He had played for the Auckland Aces in New Zealand and for the Lahore Qalandar in Pakistan Super League. He also became Man of The Match in 2016 ICC World Cup Twenty20 against Australia. Mitchell took retirement from the central contract with New Zealand cricket in 2017.
