Prithvi Shaw was seen as the future of Indian cricket at a very young age. Even from his school time, he had the knack of getting big runs and playing attractive shots resembling the great Sachin Tendulkar. As he grew, the expectations became starting becoming a reality. He led India to 2018 ICC Under-19 World Cup title. This helped the 21-year old cement his place into the Indian side as an opener.
Shaw plays for Delhi Capitals in the IPL. He was bought for 1.2 crores by the franchise for 2018 season. He made his debut on 23 April, 2018 and scored a quickfire 22 off 10 balls against Punjab Kings. Since then, he has formed a terrific opening pair with Shikhar Dhawan at the top.

At a young age of 14, Prithvi Shaw scored 546 off 330 balls in the Harris Shield which contained 85 fours and 5 sixes. This was the highest score at that time in school cricket. This innings brought him into limelight. He has a highest score of 40 in ODIs and 134 in Tests.

Shaw’s U-19 World Cup win made him an overnight sensation. He also piled on runs in Ranji Trophy. In 2017-18 Ranji Trophy, he scored his second consecutive century and his fourth in five first-class matches. Young Prithvi Shaw went on to make his Test debut at the age of 18 against West Indies and scored 134. He was adjudged the Man of the Match for his century.
But he soon lost his place due to fitness concerns and doping ban. Shaw came back strongly and became the first player to score over 800 runs in the 2020-21 Vijay Hazare Trophy. He was in blistering form in the IPL 2021 before it was postponed.
