Kieron Pollard (27 runs off 17 deliveries) and Hardik Pandya (35 runs not out off 15 deliveries) gave MI a much-needed boost towards the end. MI finished at a total of 184/8 in 20 overs. Imran Tahir finished with 3 wickets for 28 runs in 4 overs. Chasing the target, Ajinkya Rahane (60 runs off 34 deliveries) provided RPS with a solid start despite losing his partner Mayank Agarwal early. He got a good partner in Steve Smith as the duo added 58 runs for the 2nd wicket. Smith remained unbeaten for 84 runs and helped RPS in registering a 7 wickets win.

Ajinkya Rahane, however, built a strong partnership of 80 runs for the 3rd wicket alongside Manoj Tiwary. After the departure of Rahane (56 runs), MS Dhoni joined Tiwary in the middle. The duo added 73 runs in 44 deliveries for the 4th wicket to push RPS to a total of 162/4. IPL 2017 Final MI vs RPS

The two sides met for the 4th time in the IPL 2017 final. Mumbai Indians won the toss for the 3rd consecutive time and elected to bat first. Mumbai batting collapsed for the 3rd time in 3 matches. If not for Krunal Pandya’s efforts, they would have finished at a much lower score. The elder Pandya scored 47 runs to take Mumbai to 129/8. Jaydev Unadkat, Adam Zampa, and Dan Christian picked up 2 wickets each for RPS. Chasing the target, RPS lost Rahul Tripathi early.
