Martin Guptill IPL

With a dominating performance in the first ODI, New Zealand have started the series against Bangladesh on the perfect note. On the other hand, the visitors have plenty of questions to answer and they need to ensure that they up the ante in the second ODI.

Almost everything went according to the plan for the hosts in the first game and they would believe that a strong show by a couple of individuals would be enough for them to cross the line in the second game as well.

Bangladesh  need their big guns to fire and the these three players from both the teams will be the ones to watch out for.

#3. Mustafizur Rahman

The first ODI made it clear that Bangladesh need to somehow neutralise the threat of New Zealand’s batting order if they wish to win their first ODI in New Zealand.

And for this to happen, Mustafizur Rahman needs to step up. On flat wickets, his pace variations could make a big difference and he could be the man to challenge the Black Caps’ big hitting middle order.

#2. Martin Guptill

Despite not scoring plenty of runs against India, the New Zealand team management showed immense faith in Martin Guptill and it paid off as the opener slammed a stunning hundred in the first game.

Guptill’s strength is his ability to score big knocks. Its tough to get him out once he is set and Bangladesh has learnt it the hard way.

If Guptill can manage to withstand the wrath of the new ball, then we may well see another big score from his bat in the second ODI.

#1. Tamim Iqbal

In the absence of Shakib Al Hasan, Tamim Iqbal is Bangladesh’s talisman. The batting order revolves around him and his performance will define the fate of the visitors.

Tamim is in good form in the recent times and these surfaces suit his batting style. Thus, he can be the match-winner for Bangladesh.
