From The Dugout

Sevilla:

Sevilla has started off the league campaign in a terrific manner under Julen Lopetegui as they sit on of the table with three wins and a draw so far.

Sevilla finished sixth last season while being just two points off making it to the Champions League.

With no European football in the calendar year,  Sevilla’s topmost priority will be finishing at a good spot in the league.

Full-back, Sergio Reguilon who was loaned out by Real Madrid to Sevilla will be expected to feature against his parent club.

Ever Banega, Oliver Torres, Luuk de Jong are expected to start against Real Madrid, while Javier Hernandez, Franco Vazquez, and Muni El-Haddadi can prove to be prominent options from the bench.

Sevilla’s forward Nolito is on the sidelines due to an injury.

Real Madrid:

In spite of all the negative talks, Real Madrid still finds itself at the third spot in the league with two wins and two draws.

Prior to the game against PSG, Madrid just managed to nick a 3-2 win against Levante.

There’s been plenty speculation regarding Zidane and Florentino Perez having a rift, which might end in Madrid having a new manager by the end of the season.

In terms of injuries, Luka Modric will be missing out against Sevilla due to a thigh issue.

Attacking-midfielder, Isco won’t be available for the league fixture either as the Spaniard has a problem with his hamstring.

Marcelo will continue to be on the sidelines to a neck-muscle injury as Ferland Mendy solidifies his place at left-back.

Marco Asensio’s knee injury keeps his away from the squad as he’s nowhere close of making a return for the time being.

James Rodriguez is expected to be in midfield in place of the injured Federico Valverde.

Club captain, Sergio Ramos will be back in the team sheet after missing out against PSG due to suspension.

Predicted Lineups:

Sevilla- Vaclik; Navas, Carlos, Carrico, Reguilon Jordan, Fernando, Banega; Torres, Jong, Ocampos

Real Madrid- Courtois; Carvajal, Varane, Ramos, Mendy; James, Casemiro, Kroos; Bale, Benzema, Hazard

The Overview:

In the last six meetings between Sevilla and Real Madrid, both clubs have managed to register three wins each.

Sevilla has won each of the last four games with Real Madrid at home.

The last time a match between the two clubs ended in a draw was way back in 2005.

Joan Jordan has bossed the midfield for Sevilla in the first four games with two goals and a pass accuracy of 90%

Ever Banega in support with Jordan can get into the act as well. The Argentine has made just an assist this season, but a quality performance from his end is due.

Talisman, Karim Benzema has impressed one and all with four goals and an assist in four games and can be expected to contribute against Sevilla.

Gareth Bale has looked sharp at the flanks with two goals and an assist so far.

Prediction:

Real Madrid fans will be expecting their side to give a response post their defeat to PSG. But Sevilla’s team chemistry while facing the Spanish capital moves up a notch, especially when they’re the hosts.

Sevilla’s impressive run in the league may carry on further as Zidane still looks for answers to get the best out of his players.
