JAM vs TKR Dream11 Prediction: As we move into the last week of group matches in this year’s Caribbean Premier League, the action now shifts back to The Brian Lara Stadium in Tarouba. Jamaica Tallawahs will take on Trinbago Knight Riders in 21st match of the season today. This will be an important game for the Tallawahs for their quest to the semifinals. We will preview the match in our Dream11 fantasy preview.
Jamaica Tallawahs are coming off fresh from a win against St Kitts and Nevis Patriots in their last match. Batting first, Glenn Phillips and Nkrumah Bonner began on a watchful note and put on a decent opening stand. Jermaine Blackwood also contributed but Glenn Phillips fought a lone battle against the Patriots bowlers and helped Jamaica put on 147 runs on the board. In reply, all the bowlers bowled accordingly to the plans and pegged back St Kitts and Nevis at regular intervals. Sandeep Lamichhane, Veerasammy Permaul and Fidel Edwards took a couple of wickets each while Carlos Brathwaite picked up 3 scalps. Jamaica Tallawahs won the match by 37 runs comfortably.
Trinbago Knight Riders are the only unbeaten team in the competition so far and have already secured their semifinal berth. They pulled out a heist from nowhere in the last match thanks to their skipper Kieron Pollard. Bowling first, Akeal Hosein, Jayden Seales and Sikandar Raza took two wickets each to restrict Barbados Tridents to 148 runs. That was still a very good total keeping in mind the slow conditions at Queen’s Park Oval. In reply, only Lendl Simmons displayed a resistance as he saw a collapse on the other end. TKR were 6-77 at one stage and were looking out of ideas in the chase. But Kieron Pollard put on a six-hitting masterclass to slam 72 runs from just 28 deliveries. This knock included 9 towering sixes and 2 boundaries. Khary Pierre finished off the job in the last over to bag another two points for his team.
In head-to-head comparisons, Jamaica Tallawahs are slightly ahead with 9 wins over Trinbago Knight Riders while TKR have managed to beat the Tallawahs on 8 occasions. In last 5 matches, TKR are dominant with 4 wins over their rivals. In the first meeting this year, TKR defeated the Tallawahs by 7 wickets at the same venue.
The weather forecast for Tuesday is not looking great in Tarouba currently. Thunderstorms are predicted on the match-day and we can only hope for this clearing out very soon in the morning. In terms of playing conditions, pitches in the first week here were slightly better for batting than the ones at Queen’s Park Oval. We can expect the same here this week but still there will be some help for the slower bowlers.
