Two of the most unfortunate teams in the IPL 2020 so far will lock horns with each other in Abu Dhabi to start the October leg of the competition. Despite showing considerably good performances in the last three outings both these teams could only end up on the right side of the results only just one time. Both teams were even part of a super over, where they ended up losing those games. That being said, by looking at their current form, the Kings XI Punjab are expected to outcast the defending champions by a considerably smaller margin. Mumbai Indians:

• A highly potent top-order batting which has a blend of youth and experience.

• Death bowling is a huge worry for MI, despite having Bumrah and Boult in their armoury, they have been pretty ordinary in that front.

Kings XI Punjab:

• Weak middle order. If either of Mayank or Rahul don’t fire, they are in very serious trouble. They would need timely support from Maxwell and Sarfaraz.
• Just like MI, their death bowling is also pretty ordinary. The likes of Sheldon Cottrell were taken to the cleaners by the RR batsmen in the last match.

Failing to score 1 from 2 balls to conceding 30 runs in the penultimate over, KXIP is finding new ways to lose matches. They have got their combinations right and now it is just only a matter of getting few wins under their belt. On the team selection front, no big changes are expected. Despite the constant failure of the middle order, they are expected to get one more chance. The only possible replacement may be Mandeep Singh replacing Karun Nair.

MI, just like KXIP have lost games that they should’ve won. They came so close to RCB’s humungous target of 204, only to fall behind in the super over, courtesy of a valiant knock from young Ishan Kishan and Kieron Pollard. As a result, Ishan Kishan is expected to keep his place. The death bowling and spin department is the biggest worry for MI, if they don’t click again MI is in very serious trouble.
