Ross Taylor is a prolific New Zealand Cricketer who has batted mostly at Number 4 during his illustrious career was a legendary Test cricketer who played for New Zealand. Taylor became New Zealand’s highest ODI century maker and broke the record of Nathan Astle on February 2017, after smashing his 17th ODI century for the black caps.

Ross Taylor was the skipper of his U-19 side in youth internationals. He holds a record of highest List A score of 132* in the State Shield domestic One-day competitions and a first-class record score of 290 against Australia in the 2015-16 Trans-Tasman Trophy Test series.

Taylor made his debut on 1 March 2006 in an ODI against the Windies. He also became of Samoan heritage to play for the national side.  He scored only 15 runs in the first match, where New Zealand finally won the match by 91 runs.

• He hit his maiden ODI century in his third match against Sri Lanka in 2006. Although his knock of 128* couldn’t help his side win the match, he succeeded in cementing a spot in the team. Though his innings of 128 not out could not help New Zealand win the match, it helped him cement his place in the team.
• While playing against Australia in February 2007, he scored 117 from 126 helping his side chase down a target of 336 and win Chappell-Hadlee Trophy 2006-07.
• Taylor scored the fastest ever century by a New Zealander against Australia in March 2010.
• In 2015, he also shattered a 111-year old record after scoring 290 against Australia in November. It is also the highest score by an overseas batsman in Tests on Australian soil.
